Japanese denim masters EVISU officially announces the appointment of Mr. Edison Chen as their first-ever spokesperson for the Asia-Pacific region. The AW12 brand campaign featuring Edison will debut on multiple media channels and platforms on this August.
3rd June, EVISU presented a live denim customization at EVISU BOXPARK to mark the Diamond Jubilee.
The Heritage fit, based on the classic Japanese 2001 style was inspired by vintage jeans, designed to shape at the hips. A higher waist and slightly narrower hem were specific details that made the baggy cut jeans extremely comfortable on the body and allowed them to be worn without a belt. The wool had undergone sulphur treatment to accentuate the color and fading effect. Only after wearing the denim, will a spiral crease appear.
For EVISU 20th Anniversary Project, the premium jeans brand has invited Japanese-born and New York-based artist Tomokazu Matsuyama for a cool cultural collabo.
MATZU FOR EVISU Jeans Limited Edition Box Set comes with elaborately packaging echoing the tidy tradition of Japanese gift-wrapping. It’s all served up in a wooden box printed with a detailed sketching of the kirin’s outline of kirin, and swathed with a furoshiki—the traditional gift-wrapping cloth of ritual gift-giving—in various shades of light blue and indigo.
The Premium Box Set even includes a Japanese fan, with a print of the dynamic full-color version of Matsuyama’s kirin in front, and a thoroughly enlightening 20 year timeline of EVISU history in the back.
