Have you ever wondered what a month is like in the life of a denim maniac? Chicken (pictured above) was the first member of the Dirty Dozen + 1 project which sees 13 people consecutively wearing the same pair of jeans everyday for one month each before passing it to the next member. The jeans are already well travelled and have made it to ball games, amusement parks, to the seaside, and central park in a just a few weeks. Denim maniacs know that the only way to wear raw selvedge denim is to wear it often and never wash it so that the denim develops natural wear and incredibly unique features like a patina, whiskers, and honeycombs. When the Dirty Dozen + 1 jeans are finished in late 2008 they would have had 13 continuous months of everyday wear!
After being with Chicken in New York for a month, the jeans were handed to Almondcrush in New Jersey who continues to carry the torch on this denim odyssey. Eventually the DD+1 jeans will make their way around to world to far off locales such as Germany, England, Singapore, and even to the jeans home in Japan.

It is an interesting experiment . Would it provide insights into how to achieve wash results which look like a 13 month worn jeans(without wash)? If possible, do provide me some more information and I would like to post them on my blog(whatever can be publicly shared)

Such a marvelous and curious project. Looking forward to updating @ Yiddishustle. I am on Day One of a new #2 Heritage from the last Evisu trip.
Dirty Dozen + 1 Evisu Jeans Project
In December I made a pilgrimmage to Evisu-Jeans Tokyo during a few space hours away from my in-laws’ house. Having grown up on 501’s, I had often wondered about the selvedge of Evisu vs. the hear-today-gone tomorrow nature of the denim today.
This is Day 1 of my #2 Heritage 32×35 pair. I have cold soaked them in two cycles. Tumble and air dry. Now they are resting before I go with them to the nice tailor near to Pete’s coffee. I cannot wait to begin enjoying them continuously.
Here is a video fo the Dirty Dozen + 1 Project. Beginning in New York, one pair of Evisu Jeans will be enjoyed by a different steward for a different month. It is a cool concept.

I haven’t washed my evisu’s since I had them for Christmas, My girlfriend is not too happy!
Wonder how dirty the dirty dozen plus 1 will be after 13 months. If I was the 13th wearer I wonder if she’d make me choose between her and evisu.
Can I be the first to wear the next dirty dozen plus one pleaseeeeeee!
